Marie Antoinette was supplied with cakes from Albert the baker, while Ethelred was caught
short and moaned at by Canute for getting his feet wet. The King of Siam purred
contentedly beside Horus. Edwards, Georges, Elizabeths and Marys paraded through
packs of cards and ranks of chess-pieces. An Emporer walked innocently amongst his
flattering courtesans. He had played a cunning hand, realising that he could not display
his own wares, he had fastened a small sausage and pair of plums onto his flesh-
coloured body-stocking.
The King of the Road propelled a small pushchair in front
of him stacked with drink and sandwiches. King Arthur and his Knights pursued their
quest for the Holy Ale together with monarchs from the Elven kingdom, Faerie land,
the Underworld, and Hollywood. Good walked hand-in-hand with Evil, Fair meandered through the trees with
Foul, the Lords of Life danced on the stage with the Dealers of Death.
My award for originality went to the Prawn.
